In Louisiana, 925 crashes involved bicycles and 1,491 involved pedestrian injuries in 2017! The Stroll into Safety Program educates children, caregivers and community members about the importance of pedestrian and bicyclist skills; the rules of the road; personal safety, improving health and environmental conditions. This program is designed to bring attention to bike and pedestrian safety issues in the Greater Baton Rouge Area to create safer, and more bike/pedestrian friendly communities. The program offers classroom presentations, bike rodeos, safety towns, community education events, and bike/pedestrian school events. This program is a hit with elementary age students, and causes the ultimate awwww reaction from adults. This program is a must see!
