Our Interactive Education Experience empowers students through real-world safety and wellness education. This dynamic, hands-on program is designed to support diverse learners from PreK–12, combining engaging activities with meaningful, real-life applications.

Each lesson is thoughtfully aligned with local academic standards and enriched through community collaboration. Through partnerships with BREC and the St. George Fire Department, The Safety Place delivers immersive learning opportunities—including our signature Safety Town experience, where young learners practice real-world safety skills in a kid-sized community setting. Students explore critical topics in:

Pedal Power

The Ready Set Pedal program empowers children, caregivers, and community members with essential knowledge and skills in pedestrian and bicycle safety. Through engaging education, it promotes road safety awareness, personal and physical wellness, mental health benefits, and environmental responsibility. Designed to spotlight bike and pedestrian safety across the Greater Baton Rouge Area, this initiative aims to create safer, more walkable, and bike-friendly communities—while strengthening neighborhood connections and promoting a culture of active living.

Program Offerings:

• Engaging & Inclusive Activities
  Featuring Learn-to-Ride Clinics, Bike ROADeo Obstacle Courses, and Community Bike Rides for all ages.
• Celebrates Active Transportation

By hosting events like Bike to School Day, Bike to Work Day, and even Walk to School Day to encourage healthy habits.

Ready Set Drive: A Life-Saving, Tech-Forward Learning Experience

At our agency, we take pride in delivering a life-saving, data-driven program that truly resonates with youth and young adults. Ready Set Drive is a dynamic, tech-forward program designed to teach young drivers safe driving habits by tapping into their love for smartphones and interactive media.

Through engaging discussions, real-life scenarios, and a fun, online platform, students stay actively involved while learning critical safety messages. The program addresses the dangers of distracted driving, underage drinking, and impaired driving, with the goal of inspiring positive behavior change and promoting traffic safety.

Ready Set Drive is available to:

• Driver’s education classes
• Defensive driving courses
• Teen and young adult groups

Whether in a classroom or community setting, the program empowers young drivers to make safer choices and become confident, informed road users.

Ready Set Rescue is a hands-on training experience that prepares teens, young adults, and adults to respond confidently in emergency situations until help arrives. Through training or certification in CPR, choking, first aid, Stop the Bleed, Safe Sitter classes, and daycare safety and wellness training, participants gain the skills to protect lives and promote safety in their homes, schools, childcare centers, and communities.

Our Community Essentials Market creates meaningful opportunities to empower, exchange, and embrace gently loved items while supporting the overall well-being of families in our community. The Safety Place has developed a unique and sustainable model that allows community members and businesses to donate funds, new items, or responsibly recycle gently used goods. In turn, With Love offers these essential items to caregivers in need through an innovative learn & earn model that promotes dignity, enrichment, and engagement. 

Community members learn and earn their way into the market by participating in safety and wellness skill-building courses, community events, volunteering, or making gently used in-kind donations. This model is even more impactful due to our intentional collaboration with other community-based organizations and service providers. Questions? A Bold Collaboration for Menstrual Wellness!

The Safety Place and Power Pump Girls have joined forces to spark change through a high-impact initiative focused on menstrual health, equity, education, and empowerment. This dynamic partnership—marked by the ⚡️ of purpose and progress—delivers resources and conversations that matter.

Together, we’re leading:

• Power Pump Girls Period Pantry – providing education and free menstrual hygiene products to those in need, helping eliminate barriers, prevent period poverty, remove stigmas, and promote dignity. 
• PMSentials Workshop – a period education initiative designed to equip young menstruators with the tools, language, and confidence to better understand their bodies and speak out against the stigma. 

Turning “uncomfy” topics into empowering conversations that normalize period talk and build confidence. This period education initiative is designed to equip young menstruators with the tools, language, and confidence to better understand their bodies.

Through this partnership, we’re creating a more informed, supported, and equitable community—one cycle at a time.
